I am excited to announce: This sweet couples one year anniversary will be on July 18! I am also VERY nervous to post this blog as I know it will be an emotional one for many! I have known Taryn for just over 5 years, and during that time, her (and ALL the Wards) have basically become FAMILY to me. My heart skipped a beat when her and Austin asked me to be their photographer - I knew this wedding was going to be gorgeous, and I was not wrong! We started the day off with the gals getting hair and make up by the fabulous ladies at Sweet Impressions Hair Salon in Sandusky, Michigan . Time for the dress! I'll be honest, when the dress was on the hook... My jaw dropped, I have never seen anything like this masterpiece. It was exquisite, I was more excited than she was to see it on her! Austin escorted his mom (looking radiant in a navy blue sparkle dress) down the aisle. Then it was time for Taryn's gorgeous mother to make her way down, and she was escorted by them two handsome sons of hers. Grab your Kleenex.... this is the emotional part. Todd escorted his beautiful bride, and equally beautiful, 2nd daughter down the aisle. His love continues to shine through, as he helps these two adorable little girls (his granddaughter being one of them) out of the horse drawn carriage, cradles his adorable granddaughter, and walks the two littles down the aisle. Then, this King of man, takes his princess down from the carriage and walks HIS little girl down the aisle for her to join her prince forever in marriage. ~In loving memory of TDW Ceremony was held at a Family Farm! Austin and the boys busted their b*utts getting it ready and the view was breathtaking! Reception was held at Beagios in Kingston and the food was outstanding! Hands down this is the best catered meal you will have at a wedding! Bill and Ann (and their entire staff) prepare incredible meals and have the most outstanding customer service! The hall was decorated beautifully, and the outdoor area was perfect for our "late night pizza kiss"! Happy Anniversary to this sweet couple and congratulations on expecting baby girl #2 any day now! If you follow my "what to wear guide" blog, you know how much I absolutely love families that incorporate a uniform color into their outfits without actually being "matchy matchy". The Dean family nailed it with charcoal grey, accented with pinks and purples, to match the beach & sky. So much fun to photograph this sweet family. They were dressed in the perfect casual beach outfits. We had a blast talking about Spiderman and Dinosaurs, and yet, we still had time to capture some amazing images with enough time left over to put our toes in the sand! Love is in the air! This surprise wedding proposal at Miramar Beach was so exciting! I swear at one point I was more excited than he was! By the time the engagement session was done - these two felt like family! So excited for the both of you! Chelsea has one of the most spirited personalities I have ever come across! She had everyone on the beach mesmerized - we were all caught up in the joy and happiness of this moment. I asked Chelsea if she would be a "guest blogger" for me and give a little recap from her point of view.... read on! I knew I was going out to dinner with my boyfriend for our own special night while in Destin with family, and while I knew he had something planned for us, was I in for a treat. After being informed it was a 2 hour wait at the restaurant, I was not the happiest camper. He suggested we go for a walk and so I suggested the beach (which aligned well with his plan), so we headed down the stairs past the restaurant. Upon arriving at the beach, I noticed how cute this spread on the beach was, and was incredibly jealous of their picnic or so it seemed. Upon suggestion that we go check it out, I was hesitant due to the fact it was not ours. He insisted so I followed along and noticed a well placed note in a champagne bottle. To my surprise, he hands me the note, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him. Once I said yes of course, I immediately looked up and felt like a celebrity with my picture being taken. Not only had Melonie and her husband captured the whole proposal unbeknownst to me, but they also greeted us as if we were family and had known us our whole lives. While my now fiancé had made the arrangements (completely online and over the phone), we were surprised to find out she was originally from our area of Michigan as well, prior to moving to Destin which had made this night even more special. I can’t quite put into words how comfortable and happy I was to be flung into a surprise photo shoot, but as Melonie said “you’re a star, have you modeled before” which instantly put all my anxiety to rest. I could not recommend the experience (as well as the proposal of course!) to be done by anyone else as well as they did, from setup to the final product. I will be contacting Melonie for any future photo opportunities as well as recommending her to all, anytime I am back in my favorite place: Destin, FL. Miramar Beach Engagement Portraits

We all know I have a weak spot for doggos - these two were no exception to the rule! Last week, Tim and I had a family photo session at Tops'l resort in Destin. We got there a few minutes early for the session so we decided to walk the grounds and we came across these two adorable pups. Dad was taking them for a little walk and mentioned that the older one might, unfortunately, be on his last trip down to Destin due to his age... cue camera!
