Have you ever heard of the 10 Commandments? They are a set of fundamental rules that God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai. The commandments provide guidance on how we can live a righteous life and be in a healthy relationship with God. >> FOLLOW ON INSTAGRAM << Let's take a look at Exodus 20:1-2: "And God spoke all these words: 'I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.'" This introduction is significant because it establishes the authority of the 10 Commandments. God personally delivered them to the Israelites who were His chosen people. So why are the 10 Commandments important to us today, as teenagers? First, the commandments teach us how to love God and our neighbor. We are called to honor our parents, not steal, not lie, not covet, and not commit adultery. These rules help us maintain a loving and respectful attitude towards those around us, ensuring we live positive and peaceful lives. You are not defined by your body, but by your soul LET'S CONNECT! Second, the commandments help us understand our sinfulness and our need for a savior. No one on earth can follow the commandments perfectly; we all fall short. But we have a loving God who wants to forgive us and draw us closer to Him. The Bible teaches us that God is merciful and will forgive us when we confess our sins and ask for His forgiveness. Now, let's talk about 30A Vybz, and how it can help us grow closer to God. 30A Vybz is an online community and teen gospel mentorship that aims to help teenagers strengthen their faith and connect with other teens who share similar beliefs. Through 30A Vybz and the #vybztryb members, teens can find resources and mentors who can guide us in our personal journeys and passions. We can learn about the Bible, attend events, ask questions, and share our stories with other teens who walk alongside us. 30A Vybz is a place where teens can come to make a difference in the world. We believe that everyone has a unique story to share or gift to offer, and we want to help teens find their passion and use it to make a positive impact on the world. We do this through our mentorship and one-on-one creative content photo sessions and teach them to be micro influencers. By following the 10 Commandments and being a part of a supportive community, we can grow closer to God and become the best versions of ourselves. We’ll also be able to truly live out John 10:10, which says: "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." In conclusion, the 10 Commandments are still relevant today, and they provide a blueprint for a moral and ethical life . Most Americans are familiar with the Ten Commandments. Even those who have little religious background know the Ten Commandments are a list of rules given by God. The ten commandments can be found in Exodus 20:1-17 and Deuteronomy 5:6-21. They are divided into two groups, the first group contains the commands relating towards God and the second group the commands regarding others. Yet, the lists of ten commandments found in the Catholic catechism are different from that taught in most Protestant churches. The 10 Commandments: 1. You shall have no other gods before me. 2. You shall not make for yourself an idol or worship any other gods. 3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain. 4. Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. 5. Honor your father and mother. 6. You shall not murder. 7. You shall not commit adultery. 8. You shall not steal. 9. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. 10. You shall not covet your neighbor's house, spouse or possessions. While some of these commandments may seem outdated or irrelevant in our modern society, they still provide a moral framework for us to follow. For example, the commandment to not murder is still applicable today, as murder is universally seen as a heinous crime. The commandment to not commit adultery is also still important, as cheating can have damaging effects on relationships and families. Ultimately, the 10 commandments remind us to prioritize our relationship with God, and to treat others with respect and love. My goal is to help teens find their voice and use it to make a difference in the world. As a faith-based photographer , I will help teens share their story with others, and will help them to inspire others to be confident and beautiful in their own skin. A Best Friend Session Builds Teen Self Esteem A best friend session is a great way to celebrate your friendship and document your bond. When you have a best friend, you have someone who knows you better than anyone else. They know your strengths and weaknesses, your likes and dislikes, and your secrets. A best friend session is a great way to show your best friend how much you appreciate them. You can take pictures of the two of you together, doing things that you love. You can also take pictures of just one of you, doing something that makes you happy. I had so much fun with Ava and Auri for their BFF session in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. As the girls let me choose any theme I wanted for their BFF session, I decided to what I love to do most in my downtime.... listen to music! We went with a boho wardrobe to compliment this 70's (ish) photo set up complete with vinyl records from all my favorites; Eric Lindell, Lincoln Durham and my all time favorite.... Bob Seger! And surprise... I even got out the pearls for the girls to throw on. OK, so if you have followed me for more than one day, then you know peals are a must for every girl and every day! I never leave home with out them! Faith over Fear Faith is an important part of many people's lives. It can provide comfort, strength, and guidance. It can also help people to cope with difficult times. If you're a teen, you may be trying to figure out what your faith means to you. You may be asking questions about God, the Bible, and what it means to be a Christian. That's perfectly normal. There are no easy answers to these questions. But the important thing is to keep exploring and asking questions. The more you explore, the more you'll learn about your faith and what it means to you. Faith as a Christian Teen Being a Christian teen can be tough. You're trying to figure out your place in the world, and you're trying to make sense of your faith. But it can also be incredibly rewarding. When you have a strong faith, you have a foundation to build your life on. You have a sense of purpose and direction. And you have a community of people who love and support you. If you're a Christian teen, don't be afraid to stand up for what you believe in. Don't be afraid to share your faith with others. V isionary Y outh B eliever Z = VYBZ Middle school can often be a challenging time for students, as they navigate new social dynamics and try to find their place in the world. Many students struggle with self-confidence and self-esteem during this time. But there is a fun and creative way to help them feel more confident and celebrate their friendships - BFF photo sessions! Our recent photo session with three middle schoolers in Baytown Warf showcased how a simple activity like roller skating and enjoying ice cream with friends can make a big impact on a child's self-worth. The girls were bubbling with joy and laughter and we captured many great moments of them being themselves, enjoying each other's company, and having fun. They were also quick to compliment each other on their outfits and hair styles. This kind of positivity and support among friends creates a safe and nurturing environment where children can feel seen, heard, and accepted. As we went to different locations around Baytown Warf, I saw the girls grow more confident and comfortable in front of the camera. They started posing more confidently, and had fun showing off their unique personalities through different poses and expressions. Inspiring Teens is a "by teens for teens" organization that is overseen by adults. As a whole, they focus on leadership and volunteering. The Inspire Team is made up of teens from around the world who are in an issue of Inspiring Teens Magazine. Teens in the Inspiring Teens leadership programs, on the Inspire Team and in the magazine have given away over $122,000 in teen scholarships since 2019 and together they have raised over $100,000 for nonprofits since 2012. Some teens on the Inspire Team have hosted conferences both in person for teens in the US, and through zoom for teens across the world. They also host monthly challenges and connect to make the world a much smaller place. Chloee is an inspiring teen with drive, determination, and desire to serve! She opted for rigorous course loads of AP and dual enrollment classes, and secured employment at a vision center to gain experience and knowledge to reach her goal of becoming an optometrist. Chloee has sought opportunities to be a leader and positive role model. She’s been a class officer, NHS VP, Rotary Interact President, and peer mentor. She organized events for children in her community during various holidays and ran a food drive at Thanksgiving. A location usually drives some of the other decisions you will need to make about your shoot so it’s important to choose the right place. The beaches of 30A Florida are one of the most popular destination locations for senior portraits, but the Emerald Coast has many hidden beautiful locations. Here are a few questions to ask yourself before you decide on a location: What kind of theme do I want? If a particular building or natural backdrop would work well with your theme, look around your area for spots that meet your requirements. If you don't know what kind of backdrop you want, take an afternoon drive around your city for inspiration. It's easy to overlook beautiful spots that are practically in your backyard. Ask family, friends or your photographer for ideas too. Based in Santa Rosa Beach Florida, we already have some amazing locations that we love to photograph at. The exciting thing about 30A, there's 1000's of city scapes, gardens, fields, and more - no two senior sessions are alike! Are you allowed to take pictures there? Make sure that you can legally take pictures at the location that you have in mind. If it's not public property or available to the public you will need to get permission first. While we love photographing on the beaches of 30A, please remember that Walton County Florida does require BEACH Permits for Professional Photographers on the beach. Alys Beach and Rosemary Beach are very popular STREETSCAPE locations for Senior portraits as well, however, please remember you must be a resident or have permission to photograph in those towns. Is it accessible? Consider that not all outdoor locations may be available all year round or you might not be able to get to them at all. Your safety is also an important aspect to think about before you decide on a location. Taking pictures on a mountain ledge may look neat but it’s best not to put yourself in harm’s way. Safety is important when it comes to photographing. We do find some of the coolest and unique locations to shoot at, however, I always suggest clients bring a comfortable pair of shoes for walking... or climbing LOL. How do you get to your location? Will it be easy to walk to the session location and if not, are you able to change your clothing and touch up your hair and makeup before the shoot? You should also find out whether there is a restroom that’s close enough in case you need it. These are high priority questions! For real! We offer a pop up changing tent for your convenience. This makes wardrobe changes a breeze. Will the photo session be in a public place? If the location you have chosen has a lot of foot traffic, you need to ask yourself whether you are comfortable being photographed in front of others. If not, you might want to rethink your choice in location. Make sure that your location doesn’t become a distraction. Your location tells a story so it’s worthwhile to choose a meaningful spot. Using your images in the the Teen 'Zeen Blog , the printed magazine and individual social media platforms, the goal of 30A Vybz is for Teens and Tweens to promote a positive body image for all shapes and to share that with peers in their community. Do I get the digital files? Yes! You get unlimited Social Media File downloads for you to share on all your favorite social media platforms! While it is suggested to start the program in your Freshman year so we can capture ALL of your high school years, we understand that sometimes, people just don't hear about us until after their Freshman year - don't worry, we welcome teens of all ages...because Teens ages 13-19 are eligible to apply for the $1000 scholarship! And they can once per year. How do I get on the COVER of the magazine? Because the magazine is only printed 4 times per year, we have VERY limited availability for the cover spot. While she is in her 3rd year of High School Program, I have actually been photographing this beautiful young lady since she was just a little tyke on the MHS girls little league softball team (and I'm not sure she's gotten much taller since). Just kiddin D! Back on the 8-10 year old girls softball field, you were just most adorable softball player out there, now in your junior year of high school - you have not only blossomed into the most stunning softball player on the field - you are also rockin' it with the bat girl! So proud of you! While we left the softball gear at home for this session, I did get to stop at one of my favorite places for some fashion pieces...
